Wall Malgarr - Large Wide with Barramul the Emu Design.
Traditionally malgarr ( shields ) were used with liyangayil
(fighting clubs) for hand to hand combat with our enemies.
I have replicated the shape of these shields in my artwork.
During Wariin Wombat Season, from April to July, we can see
Barramul the Emu, in the Sky. Barramuls’ head appears near the
southern cross, its body near the Scorpius constellation
and its tail near the Sagittarius constellation.
Seeing the emu in the sky means it is time to hunt for emu eggs.
Hand crafted in Australia from Australian Red Cedar timber.
All artefacts come with an information card.
The card has information about the artist, artefact and design.
All designs are based on traditional symbols from
South East Australia.
