WALL SHIELD MEDIUM WIDE - BILI THE BLUETONGUE LIZARD DESIGN

Wall Malgarr with Bili the Bluetongue Lizard Design.

Traditionally malgarr ( shields ) were used with liyangayil ( fighting clubs)
for hand to hand combat with our enemies.  I have replicated the shape of
these shields in my artwork.

Bili the Bluetongue lizard eats all sorts of small creatures.  Bili lives in a wide variety of environments, from coastal heathland, lowlands and mountain forests to interior plains.  You can identify Bili by his thick skin and distinctive blue tongue – for which he is named.

Hand crafted in Australia from Australian Red Cedar timber.

All artefacts come with an information card.  The card has information about the artist, artefact and design.  All designs are based on traditional symbols from South East Australia.
