In Kulin Nation creation stories, Dhulin the Goanna is one of the six special men who helped Bunjil the Wedge Tailed Eagle - our Creator - when he created the Earth. Bunjil taught all the special men how to look after his creations - the mountains and the rivers, man, woman and all the animals. He taught them how to make weapons, how to fight with them, and how to behave with one another. After Bunjil had finished, Bellin Bellin the Musk Crow blew Dhulin and the other special men to the stars.
Each wangim is crafted from naturally bent timber sourced from tree roots and branches, honouring traditional methods. All designs draw from South East Australian cultural symbols. Includes an information card detailing the artist, artefact, and design story.
