Parrying Malgarr Medium Wide with Deberer the Bogong Moth Design.
Traditionally malgarr ( shields ) were used with liyangayil
( fighting clubs) for hand to hand combat with our enemies.
I have replicated the shape ofthese shields in my artwork.
Deberer the Bogong Moth were gathered in the high country by our Liwik or Ancestors, during the Biderap or Dry season. They are a very rich source of protein.
